Crystal sound cards were always in the same category as ESS onboard sound for me. I avoid them like the plague. Maybe on paper they seem brilliant but I always had issues with old sierra titles...picky games like Ultima. etc. I look for compatibility in an ISA card and that means Creative 😜

My attempt at running two (or more) cards in the same machine have always ended in going back to my previous setup :) Thing is that the FM chip stays at the same resource and this creates issues with old Sierra games for example. I would just stuck with the AWE64 and be done with it :) lol :) …

I have Savage 3d, S3 Trio 3D, Riva TNT2, TNT2 Vanta, TNT2 and a Radeon 9200 128mb - all AGP cards the thing is all of those cards have very similar scores in PCPBENCH even the Radeon 9200. Is the bottleneck the fact its AGP x2 or is it the CPU? Most probably it's because you didn't enable write …

Yup I always thought the sierra games had great scripts - police quest, kings quest, quest for glory, leisure suit larry, space quest. It was funny and had its moments. I played leisure suit larry 1, 3 and 5 extensively.

What makes you say bad caps? Symptoms I described or the caps look bad to you? Well if that's the case this Pentium III is on the back burner for now. Do all capacitors eventually fail? One day...?

It looks like your loading autoexec.bat and config.sys before doing your tests. I always test without loading anything to interfere - holding shift on boot for example and bypassing system files. If its a windows PC I hit F8 and go to command prompt. How did you fry the 2 boards?
