I used a Voodoo 3 2000 PCI on my Dual PPro for a long time (Intel PR440FX dual 333 overdrives), but ended up sticking an 8MB Matrox Millenium in it. OS is Windows 2000, 1GB RAM.

I also noticed some time ago that for these R300 cards the only survivors were the ones that had an aftermarket cooler attached. Same story for the x800 and x1900 series. Nvidia`s 6800 series can get defect also when not cooled good, 7800 series are even worse, don`t see that many for sale lately. …

I had a hard time finding 5.25" drives a while ago when they were $40 a pop on ebay but ran into a local recycler and purchased a whole stack of them for $20. For somebody who just needs one $20 is a decent price, its the collectors/hoarders like myself that look for them in bulk. 😉

If you just want to use a USB mouse you can get an adapter from USB to PS/2 that comes with older Microsoft USB Optical mice and a Belkin KVM. I use that method for general computing in my lab where I have various era machines on the KVM some pre USB.

Belkin had some that did serial + ps/2 and of course some that do ps/2 and USB, but I never seen one that did all 3.
