Built in audio got pretty decent for anything but professional work so people tend to stick with it these days. I bet Creative makes more money selling speakers then sound cards anymore.

Not that many around and they are expensive. Matrox made a decent one but its pricey and hard to find. A shame really because PCI-X networking, SCSI, SATA cards are dirt cheap now. Don't think there are any CAD cards for PCI-X , CAD went for AGP Pro mostly.

I was thinking about getting those stand alone SIMM testers years ago but they were pricey even then. Just sticking them into a motherboard and having the system recognize them does not mean they will work 100%. I still use memtest in DOS to check modules (especially new ones direct from China). …

I still have my 90's era Technics stereo equipment (even added a few components). Nobody makes decent affordable 2 channel stereo equipment these days its all 7.1 or whatever is popular for HD video. Everybody has their music collection on a hard drive these days but I still like the old higher end …

6100 machines can also use a PDS video card (with angle adapter) that uses the standard Apple video output (which also needs an adapter for VGA). Cheaper and easier to find. I have that HDI45 adapter and it wasn't that expensive or hard to find.

I have stacks of old 68k and PPC macs from the 68000 SE's to the PCIE Model G5's. 32MB was pretty good when they were new (16MB was the norm). Most chipsets don't cache more then 64MB, Intel HX can cache 256MB I think.
