Some do better than others. My Win9x laptop with an ATI RAGE Mobile-P works fine for pretty much anything you can throw at it. I imagine the compatibility rate goes WAAAY down if I try to run an NT OS on it (not to mention with only a 450MHz Celeron, it probably won't work too well either 😉)

Sounds like it might be trying to write to a file on the CD, stupid thing, or maybe it has (and this is a wild, wild, far out there idea) some really weird type of copy protection that uses bad sectors that creating an ISO strips out. *shrug*

DSP chips (not to be confused with Digital Signal Processors), marketed by Nintendo as "SuperFX", are extra chips built into the cartridge of some games (Pilotwings, Super Mario RPG, Stunt Race FX all used DSP1). DSP3 is for Top Gear 3000, probably some other stuff too.
