Re: Constructor under WinXP

in DOS
Okay. I've done some testing. Here are my results. Running UVCONFIG.EXE manually solves the problem of it claiming to not have enough conventional memory, but will usually detect the wrong video card. Using a newer version of UVCONFIG.EXE to force-select an nVidia RIVA-128 (the last generation of …

Re: Carmageddon woes

Yeah, you'll definitely need something with a better graphics card. GliDOS does not do anything to modify your registry AT ALL -- not even an uninstaller. Just delete the GliDOS directory and it's gone. 😀

Re: Carmageddon woes

Good lord, you're using an Intel i810 graphics chip? Upgrade, man! Upgrade! There's no WAY you're going to get any kind of tollerable framerate with that, and it looks like it has pretty flaky drivers anyway. Just find a GeForce3. Mwah. SPRING BREAK! YAAAAAAAH! 😜 Here's the sexy new logo I've created for the next edition of the VOGONS website. I may add a few sprites, but for the most part it's done. Let me know how you like it. Hell, I'll even post a poll for you!

You've made sure that it is pointing …

Re: Win9x + VDMSound **ALPHA**

Welcome aboard. Glad to see you've finally come. :) Honestly I noticed very little instability with the other version. The only real big differences from it and the WinNT version were the 0x0000002 "Tip of the Day" error, crashes when running VXDSBOOM, and crashes running it every other time ( …

Re: Sound Cutting during play

This seems to be a problem with DMA updates being too infrequent. I'm getting lots of "DMATransferManager - Boosting DMA processing rate by 30.0% at DMA handler's request; post-boost recovery rate updated to 0.034%" messages when I log with VDMS. Let me check one more thing and get back to you. ( …
