Okay, so, are you using the keyboard or a controller? If a controller, have you tried it with other games, and does it work correctly? also, try disconnecting the controller and making sure that it's completely gone from the Game Controllers CPL. If you're using a keyboard, is it USB? PS/2?

Be sure you aren't using the crappy default XP drivers for your sound card. Those are worse than Creative's.

He said he was using the OpenGLide DLL, DosFreak. OpenGLide emulates Glide by mapping calls to OpenGL, therefore it makes NO DIFFERENCE if the card supports or doesn't support Glide. Put Glide2x.dll from OpenGLide in the game's directory. Of course, the game COULD be hardwired to a specific Glide …

I thought MBM5 fixed the problem. Do a system search for GIVEIO.SYS. It doesn't have to be in the registry to be active.

Try going back in DOSBox revisions until you find one that either won't run the game at all or one that DOESN'T have the sound problem.

Yeah, but if you haven't still got it, well, it doesn't matter, does it? I've got a disassembled full-tower 386 sitting in the attic, complete with 20MB 5.25" hard drive. Though, it kinda crashed, so it's useless. (It is for this reason it is in pieces in a box. 😜)

Are you using GIVEIO.SYS or something similar to that (early versions of MBM have this)? This sounds strikingly like a GIVEIO.SYS problem.
