Programming C

in DOS
I've finally decided to start learning C. (I need to know a program language, heh...) So, we'll see how well and how quickly I learn. (I tried learning it when I was, like, 9 or 10, which just didn't work -- I was too young. Hopefully I'm not now. 😀) It should be interesting, in the least.

Regarding CLI2NOP

in Milliways
Alright, all. I set down and all worked out a new CLI2NOP without any restrictions. I saw that two of you downloaded a preliminary version...now the new version is here! This should be a final version, and runs independent of any bloody batch files.

Re: 3dfx/Glide

in PC Emulation
Now, you see, mate, this shouldn't ever be a problem since nVidia BOUGHT OUT 3Dfx... I don't know why they haven't either released glide stuffs to open-source released glide-compatible drivers for their video cards It's damn annoying, in my opinion. But, c'est la vie, I guess...😒

Actually, I've been watching it. I love when Douglas talks about the antivenom guy in Australia. funny, funny, funny! I'm only through the first two chapters, though. (And I haaate the 640x480x8 images -- I hate the paletting especially, and I have this pain all down the diodes on my left side.)

Welp, all I'm hearing from the Big Man Vlad himself are good words regarding the move, so I'm closing this thread. Thanks to the, err, two others that voted. *cough*

What, from Windows Update?

in DOS
Which now doesn't support ANY of the Windows 9x series of OSs? ... Good luck. 'Sides, how much more would SE cost? Not much, I imagine. (Can you even GET plain 98 anymore?)

Re: X-Com Apocalypse

in DOS
basic W98 has all you need. Does it? Really? I could've sworn that there was more and better stuff in SE. Just some Microsoft FUD? True, but get the mouse anyway. Murphy's law of computing says when your mouse breaks, it will be at a bad time (much like breaking on the last bounce). I remember my …

Done and Done

in Milliways
Actually, in the brand-spankin-new VDMSound section that I just made, there IS a developer's discussion. If need be, I can move that out as general developer discussion instead of VDMS-specific discussion.

2DOSWIN - by Snover

in Deep Thought
2DOSWIN is a batch file I created to help ease Windows 9x users to and from DOS. It hasn't been thorougly tested, but I haven't had any complaints about it doing bad stuff. Please let me know if it works for you. Below is the brief I posted to this thread , which debuted the script: Remember to edit …

Re: Re: Re: Last Resort

in DOS
Win98SE...Not really sure what advantage this would have game-wise. It had some adjustments and tweaks and other stuff...I can't remember them at the moment, but is really the OS of choice for gaming. To be on the safe side, always have a serial or PS/2 mouse around (cheap types, or maybe you can …
