For me, the last great DOS game was Liero 1.33, which was released in 1998. (Honorable mention: Jump 'n Bump)

I liked the WinAMP versions around 2.80. I kept using it into the mid 2000's. Then Pandora happened. I hardly use my own collection of music now.

I have a membership at hpcfactor.com because members can download archives of all official patches for every retro version of Windows that I care about. Letting somebody else do the work of finding all of those patches is totally worth $10 to me.
