Tested a theory to see what would happen if a 5V only EEPROM/flash chip was inserted into a PCChips M912 v1.7 board that has a jumper for 5V chips (JP3 pins 1-2, or 2-3 for 12V chips) above the BIOS type (AMI 1-2, Award 2-3). Nothin blew smoke, fire, or flames at all and it works (I flashed the …

Anyone notice that the mouse icon got smaller after a Windows 10 update? I use a bigger mouse icon since it's hard for me to see a small arrow on the screen.

Does the AWE32 have the CT1747 chip, CQM, or YM-262M? If CT1747, level 2 bug, which is an extremely rare occurrence and if CQM and/or YM-262M, bugs all the way.

I had bad luck with diskettes for I/O controller cards that needed write-protection off to make a temporary file or would throw data errors across the board. Good thing the internet and a lot of people that bought that particular card had drivers listed online. Good thing I backed up my NX Pro 16 …

I agree. I use WinImage for archiving my diskettes and making new ones with drivers and stuff for controller cards, video, sound, etc.

I use dskimage to backup my diskettes into images and in case they stop working one day, I can copy the image to a newly formatted diskette and be done with it. I wish I could copy my Lemmings IBM diskette, but it's copy protected (volume label is all jibberish).

Is that OptiPlex using a Socket 423 Pentium 4? I have a Socket 423 with 768MB RD-RAM and works really well. Need to find a home for it as I used it primarily for benchmarking and testing the speed capabilities temporarily in a case my Socket 370 is using.

Uploaded BIOS files for a PCChips M912 V1.7 motherboard that contains both Award (found a Y2K compliant BIOS online) and AMI WinBIOS, as well as a dual BIOS for a 1Mb flash chip. So in case anyone is looking for a BIOS for this board, including the fake cache board, here you go.
