There is another problem with wiki: Here there it only mentions that ALL GF4MX 4x0 cards are 128bit. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nvidia_ … GeForce4_series But I have a GF4 MX440/8x that is 64bit, thus falls a bit behind a GF2 GTS. 😉

I tried with a Tagan PSU of enough old-schoolness (30A @ 12v) and with the AGP card only installed. Also, CLR CMOS etc etc. It's probably that 🙁

Well, just for the record, it was a broken GPU. Hiccups under DX8, computer freezes after a few seconds under DX9. So the whole effort of a combined system is abandoned. 🙁

I'll have to investigate into this, because of the hiccups in the 3dmark run I tested. It may be the saturated PCI bus (all 5 slots occupied), or some PSU issues? X1600Pro is unsupported in Windows 9x, so your best bet is the GF3Ti for best compatibility or the FX5200 if it's the 128bit variant.
