@JoeCorrado, 233mhz is perfectly fine for most dos games. At least you have the option of using a cpu up to 1ghz if you want that extra speed. P2/P3 CPUs are cheap as these days so it won't cost you an arm and a leg if you decide to make the upgrade.

Ok, so I gave the connector a blow out with some compressed air and tried it again. Keyboard led's light up for a second on boot but then turn off again so there is obviously some communication between the board and the keyboard. Could my issue lay anywhere else besides the actual connector?

I should also add that this is the serial number for my board as from what I've read and what's stated above not all versions of the intel SE440BX-2 will support the coppermine processors.

Woo Hoo!!! Just tried my intel slot 1 100fsb 1ghz cpu in my SE440BX-2 running P16 bios and it booted up fine 😀 Bios correctly displays 1000mhz too! Guess we can put this to rest. Check it out!
