It's been ages... so I looked it up. Looks like ipxping (echo packet) is packet id 2 in the packet type field. In order to send a packet, the destination must be specified. Does anyone know how the IPX echo protocol actually works in real IPX LANs? How are IPX echo packets recognised to be an request or reply? Or is that done using another protocol? I can't find anything about how that actually works?
