No, Radeon 7000 has functional T&L which is properly detected by software. It could have been disabled in early drivers though. I didn't ever hear about a way to limit a HDD to a specific ATA version (ATA-5 in this case). Yes. There are programs to limit max UDMA mode from HDD manufacturers. I personally used those from WD and Maxtor. I may find it on my harddisk, or somwhere in bookmarks this evening. Will let you know :)

Unfortunately I lied... Actually my card is UM9008F 🙁 Sorry for the confusion. Anyway I would try to set IRQ to 3 (disable COM2 in BIOS). Also most common I/O port is 0x300h. Try with those values.
