What Monitor are you using ? Does it have an AutoAdjust Button ? Can you press it when TombRaider runs ?

I am searching for a Guide how to get the best speed out of PCem or 86box, when emulating a pc for Win95/98 with 3dfx. What cpu and mainboard to emulate? Host system is a core2quad 9550s with win7 64 bit

None of the cores is at 100%, all 4 are between 20-30%

I am unsing Windows95 in Dosbox and Windows 98SE in 86box and PCem. Dosbox is much faster than X86. I can emulate near a Pentium 166 with a Core2Quad 9550S. With 86box i only can only emulate to the Speed of a Pentium75. If i set 86box to emulate a Pentium 90/100 then Sound stutters /replays …

Is is okay do a clean install and lost all tha date that ist currently on HDD? You can also backup DOS win3.1 and restore ist later after installed Dos 6.22. I will post pictures of my Partition-Table later.

For me XFDISK works here. It has also a Bootmanger build in. Step1: I create a 2GB FAT16 Partition for Dos/Win3.11 Step2: then a 2 GB Fat16 Data Partition (seen from Dos/Win3.11 and Win95) Step3: and the Rest of the HDD is for a 5 GB Win95 Partion. HDD has around 9 GB size. XFDisk bootmanager …

I have Geforce Fx 5200 (AGP) and use Detonator 43.xx or 44.xx Newer versions have Problems with older Games (ColinMcRae-Rally Main Menue is then corrupt) Maybe you could try some older Omega-Drivers?

Run your Games in CommandPrompt inside Win98 and set the Games to Soundblaster Pro A220 I5 D1. Most Games will work that way, but not all.

No, you have to leave the Autoexec.bat empty. Open the Commandline inside Win98 and type SET you see a Blaster Line (A220 I5 D1........) Start your setup.exe from the game and select soundblaster with adress 220 and irq5 dma1. Do not use the real settings your soundcard has (irq 11.....) Windows 98 …

Can you lower the FSB ? Voodoo 1 Cards are not stable if FSB is higher than 66 Mhz

Remove the blaster-line from Autoexec.bat Install WDM drivers for your Soundcard. Open a Dosbox inside Win98 andy type set It should display a Blaster line with A220 I5 D1. Setup your game with these Resources. (Win98 has Build-in SBPro support if you use WDM Drivers.)

You need to copy dgvoodoo to the gamefolder where the glide2x.dll (.ovl for Dos) is. Configure dgvoodoo and run the Game. For dos Games maybe you need to start dgvoodooServer.exe by Hand.

If your new HDD is Drive N: (for example) you should be able to mount a Image of a Boot-Disk in a Virtual Disk Drive (A:) and then SYS A: N:

how does the dvd drive work? does it always spin up and down? have you tryed to copy the dvd to hdd and play it fron there ? (works only on unprotected dvds)

One of my PCs has 98, Xp and Linux. 98 has a sub menu for Win98 or Dos 7. Another Pc has Linux, XP and Win7. Main Boot menu let you choose between Linux, Windows, PlopBootManager or Memtest. Chooing Windows gives you the option to Boot Win7 or WinXP. WinXP has a Submenu for 1,2 or all 4 Cores …

I play Dos GLIDE games inside Win98SE but i did not try with Win95. Some work, some work not. Depends on the Game.
