Depends on the revision. Generally speaking, P5A and GA-5AX are both in the top 5. Maby even in the top 3. I have both P5A rev 1.06 and GA-5AX rev 4.something (4.1?). I cant tell the difference when running a K6-II-500 or K6-III-400. Never had a plus model to test with.

I am not into straight era correct cases. I just feel that cases from before 2000 are the best for P-III and down. Especially the thick heavy ATX cases, made from steel, and not the light flimsy aluminium cases.

Just picked this one up. It is missing the AV cable, though the powerbrick came with it. No funny smells, no funny sounds. Still factory sealed and not much yellowing. Frankly, I don't see a whole lot of difference: both look fairly "Pentium" to me, both don't have a turbo LED. So maybe the internal layout would be the deciding factor. The P166 seems to have a lot more going on (SCSI, Voodoo, etc), so maybe I'd put it in a bigger case. The MidiTower, has a yellow …

Well. The difference is that the MidiTower has a keylock and it has room for an extra 5.25 inch drive and an extra 3.5 inch internal drive above the psu. The Midi tower is a bit more grey than the more beige/white BabyAT tower. Other than that, they are the same internally.

I would get something like a S3-Trio64v+ or S3-Virge325, then pair it with a Voodoo1 or possible a Voodoo2.
