For old pre p2 systems, with HDD's smallere than 4gb. I use Os/2 boot manager. For bigger and newer systems, I use extended fdisk.

So.... Basically speaking. There is no way for newcomers to this hobby, getting a chance of buying an AWE64 Gold on eBay these day's? What a shame. Happy to have mine then, I guess.

The 5x86 133mhz problem sounds the same as my problem: my 486 acts the same and does not support that cpu. Either do a bios update or set it as a dx4 and run it like that. Your other problems sound like memory problems to me. It has a modded BIOS (modded by a former member) and it has been running …

It will freeze with black screen whenever some time have passed, and that is even if I have entered the BIOS. This is with the default BIOS settings loaded and with the external cache disabled (L2). Had time to play some games with these two cards. Still not shure if Audician is a better choice for native SB16 games that have option for SB-Pro, on a P-133. The only game I really had a bad experience with, wich just happens to be a SB-Pro game, are Syndicate. The only game that makes wierd noise …

2910 is non-PnP, 2950 is full-PnP. Plug and Play = setting Address, IRQ, and DMA via software. Non-PNP = settings via jumpers. No difference in sound quality. Both have the hanging note bug. Yeah... I can't seem to hear the difference. The 2910 has lots of jumpers and the 2950 has no real jumpers. This is the only difference I can seem to find.
