All of my 386DX & 486 motherboards has a non chargeable external battery connector. I'd be inclined to say that the one on this motherboard is non chargeable. Easiest way to confirm is probably by testing it with a multimeter?

As per the above post, desolder that battery on the motherboard as soon as possible before it leaks out all over the motherboard. Just to add to the above. Older PC's didn't come with real time clocks so when you shut down and restarted the PC, you had to enter the date and time again. This card kept the date and time settings and was loaded via a driver upon start up.

I wouldn't run a 3.3V CPU on this motherboard. It doesn't support 3.3V CPU's and it's only a matter of time before you kill that CPU.
