Most slotkets do not support running tualatin CPUs on pre-815T chipset motherboards. Those that do will say so explicitly, and usually go for high prices.

This benchmark database is for DOS. Also, the benchmarks are all 2D-based, so Voodoo2 will not run the tests. Well I see Phil's test package as a beginning step only. :) Will expand afterwards. Also, of course I won't use the V2 by themselves, they will be paired with a 2D card. Not useful for …

I remember about 5-6 years ago when you would occasionally see a V5-6000 on ebay. I passed those saying "nah, too much money" for $200-300. Now I can't see one for sale anywhere. 🙁

Many times I was on the verge of buying one, but I have always stopped before doing it. I can't really justify to myself one as I know it would be pretty much useless for anything practical.

Well, I'm sure that I have a 8748 somewhere, but someone (looks disapprovingly to the wife) had "cleaned" my workroom a while back, and now I can't find the right box. 😀 I found a bunch of 8742 and 8749s, but the 8748 still eludes me. I'll try to find it this week-end, wish me luck.
