Terrific. I remember studying the user manual and the Benq gaming screens have the most options I've seen in regards to these retro resolutions. It's great seeing it do 1600 x 1200 in 1:1 like that. Isn't there a retro 4:3 1440p resolution? 1920 x 1440?

I use one in my 386. You use it like a standard IDE device. It auto detects if your BIOS support it, but you can enter manual settings also.

Yup, both support it 😀 There is also this Recon 3D, but it was a bit of a dud. It uses similar software to the Z. All these cards support ALchemy. There are a few USB sound cards, Play! or something. So yea, basically a lot of Creative cards will restore EAX through ALchemy.

Nice! Good to see that some of us actually play games 😀 I keep getting pulled into new hardware projects. I just enjoy that a lot more. I found a good Let's Play Drakan, and that gave me some tips for another go at it.

Yea that's not how you create boot disks from that site. They are executables that you need to run with Gotek installed on that machine.

On a non-PnP machine, my ESS card becomes configurable with command switches. This is awesome, as you can just create a batch file to lock in all your settings 😀

Nice 😀 Yes I use that program all the time. Not only with SD cards, but I also have IDE to USB, and SATA to USB adapters. Well the IDE adapter is brand new, only got it yesterday. It will get reviewed soon.

I've covered this in the SD video (Installing Windows 98 on SD card), and really it is exactly the same as with any regular hard drive. If you have any specific issues it might be worth opening a thread as there might be more to it than just partitioning and formatting.

Yea that is the idea. It is part of the GPU benchmarks, so that should give a good idea of what GPU is required, but it definitely needs a stronger CPU that's for sure.

Not for everyone, but my tip are 1920 x 1200 screens. But you got to not mind black bars on the sides.

Well, the next step up are the GeForce4 MX cards. They are basically tuned up GeForce2 cards. I will get to those at some point in the future, but it might be a while 😀
