I don't know much about storage, so hopefully someone can help me out :) I am looking for a cheap eSATA controller, I guess PCIe, that supports port multiplier. Yea might just be a odd combination of GF3, driver and whatnot. Because I remember having DX9 installed with Voodoo cards and the game Incoming never had any issues.

I used DX7 with TNT, TNT2, 256 and GF 2 cards and all was well. When I moved to the GF3, which is a DX8 card, I had corrupt graphics in all Direct3D games. So I installed DX 8.1 and all was well. I guess it's obvious that a DX8 card needs DX8 installed 😊

400 MHz CPU speed is a limit that I found to cause issues. But not in all games and not like you describe. In my case I saw textures colored differently in Expendable and Incoming for example. Try it in an old Pentium to be sure it's not the card. And try DOS Tomb Raider to test without windows …

A FX runs Quake II most certainly better than a Voodoo 2 :) In multiple ways: Better image quality, 32 bit colours, much higher resolution and optional AF and AA. USB keyboard and mouse should work fine under Windows 98. You might want to boot into safe mode, take a look in device manager and see if the old PS/2 keyboard is still listed. Delete it if it is.

I'm benching on another board currently, will definitely try the AOpen again later. I could even replace all the caps, although they all look great, Sanyo too, AOpen usually used Japanese caps.
