Yea I've got all the SIL cards, Promise also. Tried the IDE firmware of course. If you're using a Roland MPU401 card, there are also issues with these cards and ACPI if the BIOS doesn't let you disable it. I wrote this up ages ago, it's somewhere on VOGONS :blush: Could you be more specific …

I never had much luck with these PCI SATA cards 😢 . The do work, but the actual performance was always way below the on-board IDE. It also adds latency and can cause resources drama. So for me it's SATA to IDE converters all the way 😀

What Sound Blaster are you using? Some games don't have the "enable EAX" option working, but will work regardless.

Added Dungeon Keeper Gold. This one is a little tricky and takes 160MB of hdd space. There's no installer, so you have to copy files manually to DOS AND make a partial mixed-mode CD for the CD Audio music. Nice! Odd that your sound card options are limited. Did they maybe not include all drivers?

I think it was just an option for SB Pro compatible cards. If option II didn't work, try option III. That sort of thing. Other installers called it "SB Pro compatible" or something like that.

Disable the printer port and second serial port if you don't need it? Disable the game port? The IO controller should have a bank of jumpers for that.

Everyone will have their own "cut-off" time. For me it's the 386 😀 My first PC and I got very fond memories. 286 and earlier is just not my cup of tea.
