I highly recommend not to use just Norton System Information. Benchmarks that scale well are 3dbench 1.0c, Quake timedemo and Doom. I found these to be spot on when doing cache turning off experiments 😀

Hang on a minute, I have an NF7-S and a XP 3200+ 🤣 I'm sure I got the latest BIOS from a Abit web mirror. And yes, it gets detected just fine.

Do either of you apply any Windows updates? What I found is the only way I have figured out. Does updating even matter, in regards to gaming system? I never do! I tried that unofficial SP3 once, all it did was slow down the boot time :lol: For gaming, I do not see any need in patching Windows 98. …

You might also want to benchmark it, to see which one gives you good performance. To do this press ~ at the castle sequence at the start. While benchmarking recently, I ran into a few issues: - On one system the Windows start-up sound was cut off. Some issue with the sound card and it got me low FPS. I do feel the same! When I try out Far Cry or F.E.A.R. I still get "carried away" and time flies. But most of the new stuff doesn't interest me. I have some Corsair 2-3-3-5 memory, but it requires 2.75V and many motherboards I have do not have voltage options.
