Very nice! :) A socket Socket-754 3700+ 2.4 Ghz 0.13um is about as fast as a Socket-939 3700+ 2.2 GHz 0.09um. :) Just did a run on an Asus AV8 board with 4000+ (San Diego core) and it's not much faster. Same machine, with medium! details at 1024 x 768, only gets 85.8 fps with the Steam version! Makes a massive difference indeed.

Currently benchmarking some socket 754 Athlon 64 chips. Interesting that only the later ones activate the command rate option (1T/2T) in the BIOS. Early chips / revisions have this option simply not show up, I guess at some stepping the Athlon 64 started to support command rate?

Yup, Sound Blaster Pro. It's not an issue really, DOS sound effects were usually recorded in low quality anyway, to save space.

The way I see it, performance per Watt, is THE main area of improvement over the last few years. So mobile devices are actually seeing most of those.

Maybe it doesn't have music? It uses tracker based music, which the CM-32L can't play.

QX9770 is indeed very powerful. A great upgrade option for older 775 machines. I like the idea of buying second hand OEM gaming machines.

Nice ATX board, you're already selling it on eBay 😀 I like that it can down to 75 MHz. Is that using a FSB of 50 MHz and 1.5 multiplier?
