Does BASSMIDI and VirtualMIDISynth work under Windows 98 SE? I still find 3 sound cards quite extensive :blush: I would likely ditch the Live! and use external MT-32 and GM synths, or hook up a MIDI notebook running Munt and BASSMIDI / VirtualMIDISynth. I might do a project showcasing all my ideas …

I think this is one of the cards that require -5v. Does your PSU supply that? No it doesn't. The Sound Blaster 2 does. I had issues with a 1.5 and volume, but in my case it was the trim pot that was faulty. I removed it and soldered in standard resistors, so that the volume is now locked in at 50%. …

You don't need a MT-32 to test DOSBox. It will just use the default MIDI device, notes sound off, but it's just for testing if it locks up or if it works.

At least the glide games I tried, worked across all Voodoo cards. But I admit, it was mostly Unreal, UT, Turok, Turok 2, Descent III and maybe some other games. But no exhaustive testing by any means.

Hmm I think using that eBay cooler on a 6800GT is brave :lol: It works well on a 5950 Ultra, but even that is beyond what the product description claim as supported.
