Just make sure the AGP port supports the 3.3V requirement of the V5. Unless you're using a PCI card. Like swaaye points out, it shouldn't matter much, as the V5 doesn't really need extra performance beyond a decent Pentium III. Especially at 1024 x 768 and higher.

Windows 98 does support USB joysticks / pads 😀 No need for a sound card. And I found a modern Joystick to work much better than the old analogue sticks. They don't work in DOS though.

16:9 support isn't great, with the HUD stretching. Best played at 1600 x 1200 max. But as we found out a while ago, there are graphical effects that are hardly visible at high resolutions 😀

But he's got a 1.1Ghz 100Mhz Coppermine S370. So against the 1Ghz 100Mhz Slot 1 Asus P3B-F I expect bugger all difference.
