I'm testing a MeeGoPad Compute Stick with Z3735F, 2 GB RAM, 32 GB storage and Windows 10 installed. It's working fine, I am positively surprised. I haven't done any benchmarks yet to see how it matches up against older retro systems, but I will find out soon 😀

Pretty sure they have locked multiplier, so it shouldn't matter what you set. But if there is an auto setting, just go with that. What happens when you turn it on? It should tell you the clock settings.

A Slot 1 system should well, with a fast CPU, around 800 MHz or so. This should work with old and new cards. Not 100% sure what your cutoff is, GF2 or GF3 maybe? Anything newer and I would go with 2 systems. Slot 1 for DOS, Windows 9x, and Socket A / 754 / 939 or 478 / 775 for XP. I would love to …

I've done all that, but I could never make the drive bootable, for this step I always need a boot floppy for SYS C: command. Everything else you can do in Windows though: - partition and format - Copy W98 disk into a folder - Copy drivers, tools and software into a folder

So what tools and tests do people use to load the system? Especially for Windows 98 there might be less options. Prime 95 for the CPU is a good program I like to use. What about graphics cards?

I have no qualms running Windows 10 on older machines for testing or mucking around 😀 It runs surprisingly well with low resources and everything is pretty much auto-detected or gets picked up by update.
