Early 90's PC. It was a time when games got "better". Graphics were improving year by year, so was audio and complexity of games. In a way, a transition from old 8- and 16-bit home computers and game consoles to serious gaming with ton of different genres and limitless possibilities.

I had this Toshiba T3100 with a plasma screen which had a few stripes across the screen. I thought of fixing it by checking the screen cable and applying some pressure on the screen bezel and that's when I cracked the screen. One time I hooked up a PC I got from recycling and made a visual …

Biggest problem was the two VLB cards which obviously had a resource conflict when most of the time the machine refused to POST. I seem to have fixed it by …

Re: ever buy job lots of CPUs etc?

I don't buy from eBay, but I do buy estates from time to time that usually have a few computers, chips and other accessories. A lot cheaper and easier as you can usually just pay for what you need and if it's "all or nothing" deal you can still get it rather cheap as the seller just wants to get rid …

Re: Strangest thing found on harddrives

A company's bankruptcy statement, assorted business mails, accounting info, full OneDrive with active phone sync (family/business photos) etc. Very strange that someone would just give away a laptop with all this and not even wipe or remove the HDD.

Those are good points, however you keep bringing up high end cars such as BMW and Mercedes. Those cars do not interest me, I have no need of such opulence :P You'll find that many people do not care about stuff like that. Even if I won the lottery, I likely wouldn't splurge on something like that. …
