The only other ways I know of for saved states on that computer would be by using Connectix VPC v5.1 with it's horrible DOS support or there used to be an old DOS programs that was a TSR that allowed saved states but I can't remember the name. Game Wizard 32 Pro 3.0 seems had such option. not sure …

DOSBox is made for games. It's more interesting to test it in them. Other tests are additional to that. Quake and doom were used by me in the signature's theme. Such results can be compared with stats of wide range of real machines.

hint1: DOSBox on modern hardware is better to be used. Though P3 800 MHz should be enough for many games. you may want lesser delays in action games. may need to reduce sound quality hint2: if you don't want to install XP on P3, some LiveCD may to have it to run ykhwong's DOSBox
