Re: Annoying eBay snipers....

in Milliways
Initially I too felt immensely irritated by the so called snipers. Yes, they DO play dirty. It's not a fair game to see if either party wants to see who would like to pay more to get an item, but turned that the sniper just wants to grab the item without letting know the intention to the other party …

Ah, yes, Descent. Add a good, deep-sounding sub-woofer with the Sound Canvas setup while playing Descent / Descent II, and you'll really "feel" the game.

Re: Advice on purchasing a gaming videocard

Most 'modest' cards can play current games comfortably at medium settings. Or even when settings are at 'above average'. Or at higher resolutions with unnecessary FXAA or other AAs all set to off. Currently I'm running a couple of humble Radeon 6950s (2GB each) in CrossfireX mode. Other than that, …

Re: Midi to USB Adapters

I'm using one of those cheap ones for a couple of years now. No issues so far, including transmitting the "intelligent" mode from within Dosbox to the MT-32. I also use it with my CM-500. I ordered another of this USB-to-MIDI adapter-cable recently - $4.40 including shipping from HK. http://farm9. …

Since the MKII unit is independent from the software control of …

Re: Midi Port Question

The easiest solution (maybe not the cheapest) will be to get a stereo mixer, which receives input from 2 or more sources. 1. Connect the output of the sound card (Line-Out or Speaker-Out) to an input on the mixer. 2. Connect the output from the MKII to another input on the mixer. 3. COnnect the …

Re: MASSIVE Steam Update: Trashed HL1 and CS16 !

Steam is just trying to capitalize and expand it's business further by pulling-in pure Linux users. Though I do occasionally use one distro or another from time to time just because there are so many varieties of Linux distributions, I won't be getting a game from Steam for Linux, when I'm already …

Re: Early games w/higher resolution than normal for era

Yeah, I still remember a white and black console my cousin had. It just played pong. It didn't matter when connected to the black and white tv those days. The game was in black and white anyway. It had these hard toggle switches on it. They control how difficult or easy you want the game to be.

I thought THIS game ... http://www.robertgomez.org/sites/default/files/videogames/kq4-sci-dos-600.png ...was blocky. But I still enjoy it nontheless. Whereas Starcraft ... http://www.co-optimus.com/images/upload/image/classic/starcraft01.jpg I DON'T like Starcraft that much, but Starcraft still …
