My is Pentium II 350 which I overclocked without any problem to 466 changing FSB to 133, and Pentium 166 MMX.

I also enjoyed Wolfenstein (2009) but I don`t like Daikatana, that game years ago painfully slowed down on my PII PC with Pentium II 350 OC`ed to 466 (Changed FSB to 133) and with GeForce 2 MX 400.

Quake II is nothing without music, I bought years Quake 2 from some magazine and I saw that game CD is without CD-track`s. I don`t buy them on GoG until they are normally priced. When prices are lower I buy even old Wolfenstein 3D because I like that game very much 😀

In my opinion your CPU is bottleneck for that cards, I see somewhere that for normal SLI of 7800GTX is good a OC`ed Athlon 64 to 3 Ghz, so will be good use a Athlon 6400+ or Phenom with 4 cores if you can use him at your mainboard.

At first you can try 32 Bit XP and with 91.45 driver and with 160.xx driver which is also good even for older games, also you can try Vista or 7 x64 or 32 bit version of these systems, and at beginning is good to use another disk for that.

Here at Guru3D is old drivers for ATI cards, I see here even 2.5 Catalyst driver for 98/ME, at that site is also others old for NVIDIA cards.
