My conf file won't help at all - I didn't change it except for output. I think the problem is that the game uses weird Dos commands that Dosbox doesn't support. If it worked for me, it should work for you though.

You mounted the actual folder as C drive which isn't good. Dark Forces keeps track of folder names - find the config file and see if you can find what folder it's looking in, then rename the folder to that, and mount the whole folder so the result is c:/foldername and NOT c:/

Actually yeah I get that error in 0.65. In 0.70 it tries to play but you don't hear anything.

Weird, my copy doesn't have an option of Gravis for music - just sound. I tried with sound and it works fine - I just don't have any stereo.

I tried that and there's no difference at all. Nothing I do makes a difference in how the music plays. Adlib and Soundblaster sound identical though.

It should work - the files content mean nothing. They just have repeated nonsense inside all of them - they're identical to eachother. The game just uses the files to save your settings. It's a very silly way of doing things.

IMGMOUNT is better though. What you can do is, create a .bat file and inside it, you give the command to load the BIN image. It means you never have to do anything extra to get the game running. Daemon Tool is a bit of a bother.

Okay I found the problem - the batch file is meant to check the options you picked. The problem is, the copy from HOTU (which is also hosted on other sites) is messed up and has multiple options. Might I offer an idea for another improvement? You can add an ISO or CUE file (using imgmount) but while it says "Mount CD Imag(s)" the browse button will only allow one. wd, would it be possible to remove the checks from the cracked version of the game so I can test it? I can't find the protection sheet anywhere, ebay doesn't have ANY copies of the game and Bethesda told me they can't release it because it's a licensed title.

😜 true but unlike, say, a 0.65 CVS, the 0.66 RC1 was inferior to the final 0.66 (which became 0.70) so it was much more of a danger than a 0.65 CVS over 0.65. I'm glad it became 0.70 because this way there won't be any confusions.
