Sis5598 + 6x86MX until ~2003, then a P4C with i845. I did not get to experience much 3D.

It should be in the default driver list, otherwise you should be able to point Device Manager to DISPLAY.INF together with the s3legacy.* files.

I really didn't have a problem with Andariel. Duriel is much easier with a melee character to distract him and a ranged character to just pump shots in. (He is scary first time when he kills you in no time at all. I did Zeal Paladin popping rejuves + someone as Bow Amazon.) Mephisto is just catch …

The 600X is just before they switched to Phoenix BIOS, so it'll be the "classic" ThinkPad configuration.

How sure? Around that time, a lot of games were still DOS, and Windows machines were often rebooted into DOS.

Patch release notes, including a workaround if you must use the DRM and don't have a no-CD or whatever. Keep in mind it's disabled for a reason - it's a common malware vector.

Yeah, those are in the DRIVERS.CAB on my XP CD. The INFs are there somewhere in the I386 directory. I've found only the ones for Savage and Trio3D, neither of which use s3legacy.*.

I mean Workbench as the file manager. It's clunky compared to Finder. PowerPC Amigas are for crackpots Expensive, little SW, and pointless. (Fun fact: Had the Amiga lived, it wouldn't have gone PowerPC (because if Apple did 68k->PPC, EVERYONE did rite) but possibly cut-down PA-RISC.)

Early amd64 CPUs lacked virtualization, especially on the Intel side, where most opted for the cheaper versions without VT.

Also note sometimes, a 16-bit installer will execute - Windows will check that if it knows the stub is InstallShield/Acme and will replace the 16-bit stub with a 32-bit one. Porting NTVDM to amd64 would involve some hacky CPU stuff IIRC. They could replace it with an emulator a la NT 3/4 on RISC …

I mean, even the true believers in Amigas know Workbench is a bit of a turd. They're in it for the HW, (though some realize the >1000$ underpowered un-Amiga like "Amiga" PPC machines are a bad idea) software, (not really productivity but more creative like DPaint and Tracker) and games.

Amigas are extremely overrated. The fanbase is rabid and out of touch with reality, over a computer that was done and over with when it couldn't run Doom, in spite of all its "power." I kinda respect their sheer insanity of making new hardware for them...
