Games that use the Quake engine are a must since Verite can produce some nice AA on those

Use 2.7 and see if it is stable. If it's not (which I doubt), just use 2.9, as it's still within safe limits.

This week I discovered that Rise of Nations is a thing. It seems to fill in a space between Civ and Age of Empires for me quite nicely! -It needs external power in all AGP configs. -Its an OEM version of the 9800xt, just with bit slower memory, so its better than a 9800pro.

I never had any issues with RIMMs getting hot in my S423 system. They get warm, but not hot. Maybe its because I used ones that have chips/heatsinks only on one side?

Crysis is often perceived as just a tech-demo since it can be played as a regular shooter by just using the suits armor mode. Playing around with the suit powers will reveal a unique and fun shooter.
