Ok. I'll end up testing them all anyway. I have a bunch of different ones so it wouldn't surprise me at all that some have better output than others.

I'm glad I got most of the 3dfx cards I have before the prices went crazy. A lot of them, besides the V5-5500 I got as a spare for the one I bought new from CompUSA, came in lots with other cards. I would like to have a PCI V5-5500 but that is most likely never going to happen.

Is there any reason at all for me to keep PCI S3 Trio32 or Trio64 video cards when I also have PCI S3 Virge video cards? Do the older cards have better compatibility or anything like that?

I'll have to double check, but I don't think so.. at least not for the electrolytic capacitors. That is how I determined where to use 6.3v and 16v caps.

The capacitor values are not critical. Only thing I would worry about is making sure the rated voltage is equal to or higher than the PCI voltage. What about the Quadro K2200? Same specs as the 750Ti but just a bit slower stock RAM clocks. There are modified XP drivers available for it. It is also single slot. And to top it off, it is readily available and pretty cheap.

Yeah, they definitely could have existed. My guess is that there just wasn't enough demand for them as everything was moving over to USB around that time.
