You can also get an older version of Sound Canvas VA. It shows up on eBay sometimes. That way you don't need the cloud app. The S-YXG50 came included with a ton of different sound cards and if you have Final Fantasy VII, it came with the S-YXG70.

I like to HGST or Hitachi 80gb. thru 120gb. 2.5-inch hard drives. They are much better than the original drives. And work well with WinXP. i think they are 7200rpm drives. Some stuff that has more than 4 button daisy chains off the keyboard port, such as Thrustmaster sticks, throttles and pedals. No DOS drivers, but you do have to program the controllers.

Well, if you read the actual fix above, you would see that the other person edited the card's BIOS. The easier fix is to look at the PCI ID of the card and add it to the driver .inf file.

The laptop should support pretty much whatever, but pretty sure Windows 98 is going to be limited to 128GB unless you use the R.Loew patch for larger drives. What about trying XP with FAT32? You could also try NTFS4DOS and see if that will let you install 98se on an NTFS partition.

No, it was to install the Orchid Soundwave 32 Pro driver set. All the lower models have installers that work in DOS, but this model has an installer that only works in Windows.
