As long as people post the exact settings they are using, I see no problem. That way others can replicate the settings. That should always be done anyway, along with the version number of the programs used for benching as well as the resolution and driver versions.

Brute forcing stuff is not always the best way though. If VESA is faster, then use VESA modes. The power draw isn't the problem at all, what voltages being supplies by the stock PSU is what needs to be verified.

Lemon essential oil works best from my experience. Unlike Goo Gone, it doesn't leave an oily residue. Just be careful with it as it can melt certain plastic.

Ok, so that is an AC97 chip. The only way you will get SB Pro "support"on that is by running the DOS games from within Windows 9x which has it built in. It will work ok-ish with some stuff but is not that good.
