Bought this 5V -> 3.3V voltage adaptor. Finally I can install a DX4-100 in my favourite 5V-only 486 motherboard. The BIOS reports it as DX-50, but works fine. Why not get one of those nice ATX to AT adapters with -5v added? Then you can use whatever new power supply you want and don't have to worry about ancient and dying AT power supplies? The guy that makes them even started making them with the spade connectors so you can re-use the power switch …

Also... did you clear the CMOS to clear the BIOS settings? Sounds like you tightened up the timings too much and didn't set them back to default to me.

What OS(es) are you going to be running? The ASUS and MSI use VIA chipsets, while the Gigabyte one uses an Nforce 3 Ultra chipset. Supposedly the chipset drivers for the nForce chipset are buggy on Windows 9x. People also like this board: Asrock 939 Dual SATA It has both AGP and PCIe

Well, if it supports the Tualatin Celeron, then it pretty much will support 133Mhz fsb. What motherboard is it? Have you tried looking it up? The only thing to go up from the 1.3Ghz Celeron is the 1.4Ghz Pentium III.

Heh.. If I really wanted to torture myself, I could go counting the cards I have. I kinda wonder if I have more video cards or more sound cards. I am planning on getting rid of probably about 60-70% of the video cards I have.. I think and probably a large number of sound cards as well.

Sounds like the FDDM-101 is quite flexible for how cheap it is. I just grabbed 4 for $19.99. I just need to supply a mini-USB cable. Hopefully these end up being more reliable than the Lacie drive I have (which was supposed to be great). At this price though, I can pretty much use them for anything …
