What about getting a quote from a machine shop to cut the needed holes in blank brackets? With a lathe it really should only take about 5-10 minutes per bracket to make. Not sure it would be worth it to do that except regionally though.

I bet if you extracted the files you could manually install the 95 drivers in 98 by NOT using the setup program. At the very most, the .inf file might have to be slightly modified but I kinda doubt it.

You can get them in quantity for about 60 cents a piece from Mouser if you buy 10 or more. If you buy at least 50, it goes down to 50 cents a piece. Anyway, what are you wanting to replace capacitors on?

Sound Blaster Live! and Sound Blaster Audigy series. Or do you mean a software synth that can load SF2 banks? Creative has Vienna SoundFont Studio available for the Live! cards on their downloads page if you are wanting to edit SF2 banks.

Oh.. weird. That one is not keyed to be able to work in a 64-bit slot. That's Creative for you. Looks like SB0100, SB0220, and SB4870 as well as all the low profile ones would work in a 64-bit slot.

It does not have OPL3. The ONLY PCI cards that have real OPL3 are the Yamaha YMF series. You can get a pretty close approximation with an ESS based card's ESFM. Does your motherboard have an SB-LINK or PC-PCI connector? If so, you can do away with all setup hardships and just hook up the cable …

They would work at x8, but x16 would make sure you get full bandwidth available to each card. I have tried one and they work with some sound cards and some they do not. You could always use the onboard IDE controller and if you need a larger HDD than is supported, use a drive overlay to make it work.
