Get something with active PFC. A 400w or higher should be good. Seasonic is my go to brand. High quality and great customer service. Stay away from crappy brands.

If you want the ability to upgrade the RAM with SIMMs, then go for an AWE32 or SB32. SB32 models are CT3600 and CT3620 - These usually go for a lot less than the AWE32 cards. EMM386 cannot be loaded in WnME, it feezes upon load. I suspect that the HIMEM.SYS inside ME's IO.SYS is to blame as the EXE is exactly same as Win98SE's with the exception of one single byte in copyright string. You could also get a battery holder that style or use a standard CR2032 battery holder as well. IT looks like there should be plenty of room to use a standard holder that lays down. The stand-up holders are kinda wonky and seem very easily breakable to me.

Dang, that sucks. I have a Dell Dimension 4550 that has 4 bloated caps next to the CPU socket and it still works. Some VLB I/O controllers have one IDE port running off of VLB and one IDE port running off of ISA. So performance can be quite different depending on which port you use.

I think I have the original disks. I have a boxed Sound Galaxy NX Pro 16. I'll try to copy the disks tomorrow (make images). I haven't actually tested the disks so not sure if they are good or not.

Yeah, what motherboard do you have? You may need a modified setupds to get it to work properly. If the chipset is too new, you may need to use DSDMA instead of DDMA.
