Re: PCI or PCI Express Sound Card for DOS Sound Blaster Sound Effects working on Intel Sandy Bridge Z68 or newer chipsets

A Yamaha YMF7x4 based card (724, 744, or 754) should work with the DSDMA TSR. You will get SB sound and OPL3 in DOS and MIDI in Windows and MIDI through a DOS command prompt in Windows 9X. See my sig for my repository of the drivers.. modified and DSDMA - I did not make any of the modified drivers, …

Re: Need help with an Orchid Sound Producer Pro

Looks like it is a rebadged Aztech card. This driver may work.. found it as a download for the Sound Producer Pro: p1633d-1.zip If you could post pics of the card, that would help. Edit: Found the manual. It is most definitely a rebadged Aztech card. Unsure if the driver I posted above is the …

Re: YMF744 using SB-Link Oddity?

Yeah I was kind of wondering about that when I bought myself one of these.. But I thought you could address it that stuff via software or w/e so wouldn't the SB-link be redundant ? DDMA is going to be almost as compatible as having SB-Link, but ISA DMA via SB-Link is going to give the same …

Re: YMF744 using SB-Link Oddity?

However, if you have a game such as Wing Commander, the music for the Origin loading screen will play too fast, but that is because the …

Re: E8600 vs Q6600?

How Intel has gotten away with using that same design for so long I have no idea. They won't even cool the CPUs that they come with if you put them under any sort of load. The only time I use them is to test boards and CPUs to see if they will POST. The cooling performance is about on the level of …

Re: E8600 vs Q6600?

Well, you are using a stock Intel "cooler". Those things are absolute trash and are not worth what you could get if you sold them for scrap. What you are seeing from that cooler is absolutely expected. They were trash when Intel started using that design and they are still trash over a decade later.

Re: Media Vision Memphis Multimedia Kit

Yeah, I thought about getting it. It had been relisted 3 or 4 times at least and the price never dropped. I agree it was a fair price, but I had other stuff on my radar and another PAS 16 was not needed even if it was a super-fancy setup. You'll have to make a thread about it so we can see it in all …

Re: Media Vision Memphis Multimedia Kit

There was one on eBay that had been there for quite some time. The person was asking too much for my taste. According to the seller, it also came with a monitor stand with additional speakers built in but that it was not included in the sale. Did you buy it? I see the sale ended today. https://www. …
