No way to fix the bug unless you change the DSP chip on the card to a version that doesn't have the hanging note bug. And that is pretty pointless unless you have a dead doner card. Creative cards are the only cards that have a hanging note bug as far as I know. True OPL cards aren't expensive as …

The AWE64 CT4520 is a good card and won't have the hanging notes bug. It should work for what you are wanting to use it for, but it doesn't have true Yamaha OPL and will sound slightly different for games using FM synthesis. See here for some more information about the different AWE32 and AWE64 …
