Can confirm that MediaGXm chipsets have issues with CuteMouse 1.9 and 2.1, giving delays in some software. 2.0 seems to work without issues though, it bypasses the BIOS. You can try that, and perhaps try out a different mouse to see if that helps.

Do you have an Ultrasnd folder with PAT files? This needs to be present as the application will load the PAT files into the GUS RAM and uses it as instruments to play music. Sometimes Ultramid is needed. Nascar racing has CD music right?

You should hook up a PC speaker. Often the mainboard will give you beeps through the speaker which you then can look up to see what they mean. You have no status LEDs on your mainboard?

The set6x86 tool doesn't map things but only gives you the ability to read/write bits through the correct ports/to the correct addresses. MediaGXm seems to have some features of both the 5x86 and the 6x86, but both CTCHIP's 5x86 and 6x86 profiles don't map correctly. GXm and GX1 seem to be the same …

I don't know that much about PCB's and chips but this seems too simple for an audio recording add-on. It connects to the ISA bus through the GUS and has CD in it's name... Isn't this some kind of CD-ROM interface?

No beeps? PC speaker (correctly) connected? Does the system sound like it's operating normally? Check if: - The mainboard is not shorting (touching the metal case in some way); - Reset CMOS; - Are you able to test with another screen?

There is an i2m pci card which according to the scarce info available does that same thing and might be easier to find. But it's PCI and it's not consumer oriented. And a system with PC-FX/GA and 3DO Blaster ISA boards? Totally rad!

I've also got a Gravis Ultrasound in this system and one of its utilities, Mega-Em, likes to have less than 64 MB of memory and NMI enabled for Roland emulation purposes. If I remember correctly, after the splash screen the intro video starts. It's low res video and perhaps will change the output resolution accordingly, so that would mean you will only get "out of range" when videos are playing. Pressing Escape or Enter (going to the menu) doesn't help?
