Voodoo rush atc-2475 quake 2 issue

Hi guys. I'm trying to get quake II to run on a Atrend atc-2475 voodoo rush single board. It hangs with the default 3dfxgl file and errors with other 3dfxgl files like the one from the v1 and v2 drivers. Is there a special quake 2 driver for it? Also, I can't use any other driver but the a-trend one …

there's probably something wrong with the voodoo card... does it display an error message when trying to launch glide or opengl games? Best thing to do in your situation is to test the V1 on another machine - even a 486 with windows will do. Just to make sure it runs.

I have two 486-vip-io but not on hand (they are in storage). Unfortunately the only pictures of the VRM area I have are quite blurry so they will be no help. PM brostein or hightreason. One of them should be able to help.

That's actually a good idea. Would have been cool to have a wavetable to test them with but I don't. I do recall there was a brand new wavetable you could buy - I think I've seen it demoed on phil'scomputerlab youtube channel - but for the life of me I can't remember what it's called.

Yeah, a 486 DX-33 is a good choice then, using the turbo button should take you down into 386 territory (which a DX2-66 won't do). That greatly depends on what mainboard you're using. I've seen board that just introduce wait states when turbo is pressed, and others that actually reduce clock …

I don't have four 512mb sdram sticks - only two. Spec-wise it should support 2GB of ram but I don't see why I'd do that. 1GB is more then enough.

Tested some of the Voodoo 2 cards in the lot and I've experienced no such issues. Then again I used an older version of catalyst (5.8?) off a Sapphire driver CD + FastVoodoo 4.6

Funny enough all my Asus boards needed a recap. Except for a tx97-e. No one brand has good caps over another. For example - I have a couple of Abit NF7-S boards. One used samxon caps and needed recapping. The other used panasonic and some other brand and did not require recapping.
