By default, the 3D-XG routes the output from the YMF715E through the A/D inputs of the DB60XG. This requires proper SysEx initialization of the DB60XG's A/D parts. Mediatrix' INIT3DXG utility provides this functionality, whereas the SETUPSA utility does not, resulting in the behavior you've …

What's so bad about the Audician32 supplied software? Last time I used the card it worked quite well! I believe there was one effect setting I was advised to disable in the INI but otherwise it sounded pretty sweet :) Oh and the wavetable header location is a bit annoying but I use external units …

I have finally flashed the BIOS. I downloaded FLASH.EXE wihout a readme file. Than I found the FLASH.EXE with readme file and I have found out that FLASH.EXE + DOS4GW.EXE + *.ROM file must be placed in a temporary directory. That is all.

Not sure what you mean with 8-bit or 16-bit. Are you talking about the ISA slot, or about the DAC? I thought 16-bit sampling not the bus. Are OPL3 chips able to play 16-bit samples or only 8-bit? Maybe stupid question. Is WSS supported under pure DOS or only in Windows DOS prompts? WSS was released first for Windows 3.1. If WSS is only for pure DOS so GUS MAX must play the same like GUS Classic.

OK. GUS Classic is a 16-bit/44 Khz card. GUS MAX is 48 KHz card. Are some capable games which use 48 KHz playback or this playback works only under Windows? Is a chip CS4231 used for GUS supported games or this is only for SB emulation?
