Try re-installing your chipset driver too. Some of those later Nvidia drivers are proper windows killers. I've seen them remove the "new" menu, when you right click, and all sorts of funky stuff!

First thing I do with those Radeons is remove the cooler and flip off those bloody die shims! The shims that make them die!

I'd grab a BX chipset board then, but that P3 600 maybe a bit too fast for some dos stuff. Another alternative, if you'd like to use that 9800 Pro, is to build a really high end system. I always find it best to build the system to suit the games I'd like to play. Not to suit the hardware that I could wedge in there.

Try some of the 60 series drivers. Also, do the dxdiag tests in case something got corrupted changing drivers.

If you are handy with the soldering iron? Try re-flowing all of the pins on the connector with some leaded solder. Repeated connections over the years often weaken the joints.

Nice find! Sticker, hair dryer, carefully peel off, stick to double sided tape, carefully cut around. Apply to new fan, sorted.

Plug a PS2 Keyboard in and hold in the DEL key before you power on, keep the key pressed! See if you get a post.

Just changed the coolant in a Corsair H70 AIO. The thing must be at least ten years old but the fins on the cold plate were pristine inside and there was nothing nasty floating about in there. So good job Corsair. I got slightly more coolant in than I got out .

A lot of boards will downclock the memory if all slots are filled. Some don't like it at all. Anyway, how is swapping 2x2 to 4x1 an "upgrade"?
