SimCity (original) can print the city map, and el_PuSHeR is right about Realms of Arkania (not by Sir-Tech, btw -- that was Wizardry ;) ), these games could print Character sheets, maps and (part 3) documentation. Use the sound setup of dark sun to choose correct settings for DOSBox. Moreover, you have to use your own CD drive instead of i:, of course. Read the README file or the built-in help to find out what the mount command does.

Isn't DOSBox's own IMGMOUNT capable of mounting several images swappable with Ctrl-F4? No need for Daemontools then.

Exactly, it is usually a driver thing, so when going via DirectX, the driver may not honour the f-lock key anymore because of direct access and such stuff.

Also keep in mind that if sound stutters, your cycles are set too high.

The game runs perfectly fine in DOSBox. Have a look at the guides forum for a newbie guide to dosbox. Make sure that you have the DOS version of Oil Imperium, not the C64 or Amiga version.

M.A.X. is slow, that's true. Read the guides forum for tips and tricks for speedup, but on the whole, you will have to live with some sluggishness.

I'm not quite sure. If it is enough, it is the worst possible hardware. 5600s work. On the ATI side, 9500 marks the entry level, 9200 isn't sufficient, and I developed it on a 9700.
