Re: Tune ID for Demoscene Music

Haha, I remember VOTE4ME.MOD ! I actually was able to rent(!) some compilation CDs (possibly Hornet Underground?) from our local "Software Library" (aka "Pirate What You Want Emporium") when I was a teenager. 'Vote for Me' was definitely on one of them. Of course I only had a few hundred megabytes …

Re: Anyone running Vivaldi?

Yeah I was a diehard ... have been using Opera almost exclusively since version 2 or 3. I skipped 15-2x and clung to 12.16 for as long as I could. I don't know what the hell they were thinking in there. Honestly the recent ones (now running 34 on my Macbook) go pretty well for what they are, but …

Anyone running Vivaldi?

in Milliways
Just curious, it's a new browser made mostly by ex-Opera staff who were unhappy with the post 12.x development. I played around with it a few months ago when it was in "tech preview" stage and really liked the idea, but it was too buggy & full of memory leaks. They're onto Beta 2 now and it's much …

Heh, congratulations on finding a Zone66 clone from that era that I've never played, or even heard of. 😜 (Well... maybe I did know about it back then but just forgot.) Alright, try this one: Filename idonteven.png File size 169.55 KiB Views 1966 views

Re: Good high resolution computer crt monitor?

Was my understanding that the difference between European 220 / 230 / 240V grids is just in rating. They're essentially the same. Edit: also just about any monitor made since the early '90s is gonna be built to run on 100V-240V. Every VGA multisync I've ever seen is.

Game sounds in music (or music sounds in games :)

Check this out - you'll know it when you hear it 😎 : Metropolis - Metropolis (1992) Vinyl Goddess from Mars (1995) Anyone know the origin of this sound effect? I'm guessing they both sampled it from somewhere else. Anyone have other examples?

Bought Antichamber just before the Steam sale ended. About 2/3 of the way through now. Proper mind trip. 😀 Filename antichamber-screenshot.jpg File size 74.06 KiB Views 2692 views
