I've had issues similar in the past where the part of the case the bracket slots into is bent in and all I had to do was just tweak those pockets a little and the cards for again

Can you post more pictures of the card? Also check all the chips just in case any of the legs are bent and touching.

I personally don't think how your feeling is wrong. It's really in poor taste on their part. But you'll be in your own place soon enough and moved on with your life.
