Could be the coil on the 5V SB output filter. In the spirit of nothing ventured, nothing gained, if you positively identify the coil making noise, you could try to goop the loops in place to each other using RTV silicone or epoxy and prevent them from vibrating.

It's hard to tell for sure without testing, but solid construction is always a good sign. Self contained filter modules are a high quality, slick solution. Any OEM using one is doing that part of their job right.

Forgot to mention issues with the removable flag. CF and SD is fine for DOS, but you can run into problems with some versions of Windows.

Borland and Visual C++, a small amount of Delphi, and Java was beginning to show up. Assembly code was still used, usually inline fed through the compiler.

I'd recommend against SCSI, drives are noisy, old and only going to get harder and more expensive to replace. SATA is obviously the best as its the complete opposite of the above, dont know of any cards to recommend though. IDE you may be better off with a CF/SD card with its faster seek times on …

To clarify, I'm sure by GM synth you mean the MPU-401 interface including the WT header. Solo-1 cards don't have onboard GM sythesis.
