The switch used for an AT power supply can be used with an ATX supply and an AT to ATX adapter. This is generally safer than AT as you don't have a mains lead running through your case -- it's all contained in the PSU enclosure. Of course, AT is certainly viable. You don't even have to go NOS. …

The only SB16 cards that had genuine Yamaha OPL support without a discrete Yamaha chip were ones that had a CT1747 bus chip. Cards featuring CT2505, CT2511, and AWE64 cards have integrated OPL solutions, but it's Creative's CQM version.

The amp on this board is capable of running in single ended mode. It'll have caps for bias removal, so it ultimately doesn't matter if the amp can do rail to rail or not.
